This is an international and collaborative project between :

PLMCC Brazil (frame, controls and final assembly)

PLMCC India (Engine and propeller)

Lycée Diderot, France (Wings and landing gear)

The aim of this project is to get a functionnal 3D model of a Bleriot XI airplane, in order to manufacture it next year.

We're in posession of old drawings from 1917, but sometimes dimensions were not updated at this time. So, the 3D modelling help us to identify clash during assembly of our virtual model.

It's also to make some analysis, and modification to change the engine for a more modern an reliable engine without changing the flying specificity of the airplane.

And of course, to simulate manufacturing of molds and parts before real manufacturing.

We're using Dassault Systemes softwares on this project as :

CATIA for design, analysis, assembly...

SMARTEAM for collaborative work

DELMIA for manufacturing simulation

3DVia composer for communication, images and videos.

Motivation:

To show that academic institutions can go as far as industries and the power of a collaborative work between different countries. This project is extremly motivating for Students as well as for educators to achiev a such challenging project. PLM Solutions from Dassault Systemes are the only one to provide such a big fields of applications and reliability.

PLM software:

CATIA, DELMIA, 3DVIA
